After the Second World War, there were English-speaking films that were works of art and had a mystical sensitivity, which today's filmmakers have rarely been able to overcome. The relationship of a young and attractive widow starring Gene Tierney and the ghost of a sea lion starring Rex Harrinson (in the best role of his life), make this film rise towards a clearly spiritual romanticism ... with a content of philosophical and profound nuances about life. Time does not exist ... and true intelligence has been shaped over the years. There are historical documents that some sensitive women and unwittingly, have had contact with the Free Spirits and have lived in peace in a romantic way ... away from the worldly noise and vulgarity and human evil. Some of them, became mediums. But we must bear in mind that it is necessary to have a clear attitude before the Gods: not belonging too much to this world, which in itself is ridiculous ... as it is shown comically in this great film: of vision essential for the new generations that want to be good moviegoers. An anecdote: the little girl who plays the daughter of the protagonist is Natalie Wood, who was a famous actress in the 50s and 60s. Great symphonic composition of Bernard Herrmann: that is brilliant, mysterious and melancholy.
